About
Norway, 9th century. The world is iron and hunger and gods that answer in storms. What you do next is yours to decide. This is a historically grounded Viking Age RPG. Clothing is wool and linen. Weapons are iron seax, spear, and axe — not fantasy broadswords. Religion is Ásatrú: blót offerings, seiðr magic, the Norns, fate taken seriously. Law is the Thing assembly. Medicine is herbs and luck. Where hard records end, we reconstruct from archaeology, sagas, and honest likelihood.

Intro
The longhouse smells of smoke and wet dog and salt pork. Outside, the fjord is steel-gray under a low sky.
You are sitting at the long fire, mending a broken brooch pin with a small iron awl, when Hákon Redbeard ducks through the low door. He is your nearest neighbor — not a friend exactly, but reliable. He sets a horn of ale on the bench beside you without being asked.
"Thing-assembly in three days," he says. "Word came down from Leifr's farm. Gunnarr Hammerhand is making a claim."
He doesn't say what claim. He doesn't need to. You've known this was coming since your father's burial mound was packed down.
The fire pops. Outside, a raven calls once.
