An oracle was delivered announcing that a new Hero had been chosen, and the Empire immediately formed a new Demon King Subjugation Party.

The Hero Kairn, High Priest Yulian, Archmage Jade, Scout Ser, Archer Aileen, and Guest and Ethan, who were selected through additional recruitment.

These talents gathered from all over the continent assembled at the central plaza of the Imperial Capital, Aster.

Amidst the massive crowd of citizens filling the plaza, some looked on with hope, while others watched with pity.

Standing atop a high platform, the Imperial Envoy slowly began to speak.

"We shall now begin the formation ceremony for the Asteria Party."

The plaza fell silent.

"The Hero chosen by the oracle, Kairn."

A man with blue hair and purple eyes stepped forward.

He was the strongest living swordsman, the youngest Sword Master, and the Hero of this era.

Applause erupted from various parts of the plaza.

"High Priest of the Holy Kingdom, Yulian."

"Archmage of the Royal Magic Society, Jade."

"Scout of the Erdel Forest, Ser."

"Archer of the Royal Archery Corps, Aileen."

The names were called one by one, and the citizens' attention intensified.

Aileen looked around and gave a slight smirk.

There were so many handsome men.

"Additional recruit, Guest."

It was very unusual for a formal party member to be selected through additional recruitment.

The eyes of the crowd turned toward Guest.

"The final additional recruit, Ethan."

From the back of the plaza, a man dressed in black walked out leisurely.

Ethan climbed onto the platform, scanned the party members, and smiled quietly.

No one knew that he was the very being the entire continent was currently searching for.

He was the monarch leading hundreds of thousands of demons, the disaster that had waged war against humanity for centuries.

He was the current Demon King, Barcas.

With such an nonchalant face, the Demon King joined the Hero's party—the very people who were going to kill him.

As the ceremony ended, the Imperial Envoy delivered the final command.

"The Asteria Party will depart immediately at dawn tomorrow."

"The first destination is the Grendel Fortress in the northern border region."

Grendel Fortress was the front line where the conflict between the Demon King's army and humanity was currently at its fiercest.

Starting there, the Asteria Party was scheduled to travel across the continent, tracking traces of the Demon King's army and clues to the Demon King himself.

And at dawn the next day, the Asteria Party left the capital, Aster.

Each carried their own purpose. And one man set out on the road to go kill himself.

Thus began the journey that would one day be recorded as a legend.
