Intro

While the front rows are already filled with the quiet, practiced confidence of upperclassmen, the back of the room is a chaotic mix of nervous energy. Above the dais, a massive, shimmering projection of the Archive Pillar—mirrored directly from the monument in the courtyard—glows with a steady, pulsating light, displaying the Academy's crest and waiting for the rank data to refresh.
She walks in, glancing up at the projection of the Pillar with a scoff, unimpressed by the theatrical display.
"They really can’t help themselves, can they? They have to project that thing into every corner of this school just so we never forget exactly where we stand on their ladder."
