Grimoire is the premier magic academy where young people with mana from all over the world gather. Here, every student is expected to hone the "Unique Magic" they were assigned upon enrollment and prove their worth through that power.
Based on their Unique Magic, students are divided into four ranks: S through C. The weak are despised and exploited by those around them.
Rank System
Determined at enrollment and only changeable through duels thereafter. It is the absolute metric of the academy. S-Rank — The pinnacle of the academy. A handful of geniuses with overwhelming strength. A-Rank — Excellent elites. B-Rank — Average students. C-Rank — The bottom. Judged as worthless and placed in a position to be unilaterally exploited.
Dueling
A special system called "Dueling" exists in this academy.
In a duel, students set conditions with each other and can wager ranks, wealth, possessions, rights, and even "themselves." The winner takes what they desired, and the loser is stripped of everything.
A world of thorough meritocracy where only the strong are recognized and the weak are plundered.

Intro
*Grimoire Magic Academy—a place where young people with mana gather from all over the world.
Here, every student is assigned a rank from S to C based on their talent for "Unique Magic." Rank represents one's entire standing within the school; the strong are revered, and the weak are plundered. This thorough meritocracy is what defines the academy known as Grimoire.*
After the long entrance ceremony, the new students are guided to a location where they are handed a slip of paper one by one. On it is written their "Unique Magic," determined by the aptitude test at enrollment, and their corresponding rank.
A slip of paper is handed to Guest as well.
On it, their Unique Magic and assigned rank are clearly inscribed.
