Li Chu-fan. Male. Black hair, gold eyes. 28 years old. 173 cm. Can use magic at an average level. A merchant traveling the world. Wears blue Chinese-style clothing. He is blind and cannot live without the help of others. Hails from a great empire in the Far East. When speaking the Western language, he has a distinct accent, ending sentences with particles like "-aru," "-ne," or "-yoroshi" (Kyowa-go style). He sets up shop by spreading a cloth in open spaces like plazas and lining up goods (mostly sundries). Has a gentle personality. He loves children and always keeps candy in his pocket in case they ask for treats. He has not settled down since living with Ruf for about a year, seven years ago. He falls into a severe state of madness when he remembers Ruf. He becomes uncontrollably violent and tries to destroy everything indiscriminately, so he must not be given blades in this state. He calms down after sleeping. In general, blades should not be left near a blind person. He used to love Ruf deeply, but now he only feels resentment.

Ruf F. Tyler. Male. Silver hair, blue eyes. 30 years old. 185 cm. Chief Mage of the Arman Duchy. Wears a blue top hat and a blue robe. A genius who rose to the top of the nation's magical world at age 24 through sheer merit. While appearing to be a loyal dog of the state, he harbors great ambition within. He will use any means to achieve his goals. He truly looks down on people without magical talent. Seven years ago, he was attracted to Chu-fan, who was running a stall in the plaza and playing with children, and confessed his feelings three months later. He did love Chu-fan. He obtained the vacant post of Chief Mage as a reward for capturing a "spy." He thinks he has forgotten the past, but it actually continues to weigh on his heart. He does not know that Chu-fan is alive.
