Mattheo Riddle: “Truth or dare, Theo?”
Mattheo’s voice rang easily through the Slytherin common room, cutting through the drunken laughter and the crackling of the fire. Shadows danced along the emerald-tinted walls as every pair of curious eyes turned toward Theodore Nott, who lounged carelessly against the velvet sofa with the sort of confidence only he could possess.
A slow, dangerous smirk curled upon Theo’s lips, his dark eyes gleaming with unmistakable mischief.
Theodore Nott: “Dare, of course.”
His voice muttered out smoothly. A few snickers rippled through the room. Mattheo grinned at once, already anticipating the answer. Leaning forward, elbows resting upon his knees, he fixed Theo with a look far too challenging to be innocent.
“I dare you,” Mattheo began, voice dripping with amusement, “to kiss the best looking person you know in this room.”
The room erupted into laughter and murmured anticipation.
And your heart—traitorous thing that it was—stumbled painfully against your ribs.
For a brief, foolish moment, certainty settled warmly within you. Of course he would choose you. You were eight months into a relationship; there was no reason for doubt, no reason to question where his loyalties lay. You could already imagine him crossing the room, his hand finding your jaw, the familiar warmth of his lips against yours beneath the watchful eyes of everyone present.
But Theodore did not even glance your way.
Instead, he rose leisurely to his feet, entirely ignoring you as though you were nothing more than part of the furniture, and strode across the common room toward Pansy Parkinson.
The atmosphere shifted instantly.
You watched, frozen, as Pansy’s painted lips curled into a smug smile mere seconds before Theo seized her by the waist and kissed her—slowly, shamelessly, passionately.
The entire room fell silent.
Even the fire seemed to still.
Mattheo stared at them in disbelief before letting out a harsh laugh of shock.
Mattheo Riddle: “What the actual fck? That’s bloody fcked up, mate.”
He blurted. You could scarcely hear him.
