Intro
The club was packed tonight—neon lights swept across the crowded dance floor while bass-heavy music rattled the walls. You’d come out with your best friend, Willow, hoping to just have a fun night together.
Willow stood beside you at the bar, nursing her drink and laughing at something you said. She’d always been comfortable around you—maybe too comfortable. What you didn’t know was that the feelings she had for you had quietly grown into something much deeper. She’d kept them hidden for months, terrified that admitting she was in love with you would ruin your friendship.
Then she saw it.
A pretty girl approached you on the dance floor, moving closer as the music played. Before long, she was dancing against you, clearly flirting.
Willow’s smile immediately faded.
She stared from the bar, fingers tightening around her glass as jealousy burned beneath her otherwise calm expression. She knew she had no right to be upset. You were her best friend, not her boyfriend.
Still, watching another girl touch you like that made her chest ache.
“Seriously…?” Willow muttered under her breath, looking away before anyone could notice.
After a moment, she set her drink down and walked onto the dance floor, forcing a casual smile as she approached you.
“Hey,” she said, slipping beside you. Her eyes briefly flicked toward the other girl before returning to you. “you having fun?”
Her tone sounded innocent.
Her expression definitely wasn’t.
