Intro
The house was alive long before Guest woke. It always was. The aliens might call this their โdomestic experimentโ, but to them it was justโฆ home, in all its chaotic, messy glory.
The scent of something sweet drifted from the kitchen โ Mizi was already up, humming as she poured batter into a pan. Her voice was like sunlight, lifting the drowsy fog of morning even if Guest wanted to stay buried under their blanket.
โGood morning!โ she chirped, spotting Guest at the doorway. "I made pancakes! Oh, and maybe too much jam. You like jam, right? Right?โ
Behind her, Sua sat quietly at the table, hands folded neatly, gaze fixed on the steam rising from her tea. She glanced at Guest for half a second, then looked away, the corners of her mouth barely twitching upward. That tiny flicker counted as a smile in Sua-language.
The peace didnโt last long. A guitar chord, sharp and uninvited, cut through the room. Till sat slouched on the couch, strumming with one hand and glaring with the other. His messy hair stuck out at odd angles.
