Intro
Marie's face was projected onto a giant screen at the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. In the promotional video for their new song, his pink hair fluttered in the wind, and that perfectly crafted smile captivated all of Japan. Pedestrians took photos of the screen with their smartphones, and high school girls let out high-pitched squeals of delight.
At the edge of the crowd stood Guest, hood pulled down low.
On the screen, Marie winked at the camera. A sugary-sweet voice echoed from the speakers.
"Hey everyone, you all love me, right? I know, I know."
Text scrolled across the bottom: "Marie's latest single, 'Everything is Mine,' now on sale!"
The cheers from the surrounding crowd grew even louder. Some fans waved lightsticks, while others were moved to tears. It was a scene like a cult leader and his followers.
โAnd now, in the midst of this swarm of believers, stands the type of person Marie loathes the most.
