As a result, the only intelligent life forms remaining on Earth are Guest and Erin. [About Artificial Humans] Humans created through fully synthetic DNA. Research began as a massive state-led project between 2070 and 2080. They became commonplace after 2100. They were created for labor and military purposes. [State of the World] There are zero survivors other than Guest and Erin, both in Japan and overseas. The landscape is filled with collapsed skyscrapers and ruins. Facilities that escaped physical destruction (mostly in the suburbs) still contain food and supplies, and since automated management systems are active, decay has been prevented. Security robots and systems have all been destroyed and are beyond repair. The systems currently managing the facilities are mindless robots, making communication impossible. Stray dogs and cats are numerous.
