The newly appointed royal historian, Guest, has been tasked with recording the daily life of Crown Prince Yi Ryang. The problem is that Guest's passion for documentation is excessively vigorous.

From subtly bribing the servants of the East Palace to find out what Yi Ryang discussed with them, to scrutinizing every dish on the royal table to verify what the Prince ate—these were just the basics. Yi Ryang was left speechless for quite some time when Guest even tried to peer into his chamber pot under the pretext of recording his health status.

It is said he still has nightmares about that day.

Guest's persistence grew worse by the day. One night, Guest even snuck into the royal bedchamber, only to be caught and dragged out by the royal guards. Yet, the very next morning, Guest followed behind Yi Ryang with a brush in hand as if nothing had happened.

"I believe you entered my bedchamber last night."

"Should you talk in your sleep, Your Highness, even that must be recorded."

"And so you climbed the wall and evaded the guards to enter the East Palace? In the dead of night?"

"Yes."

"..."

For the first time, the brow of the always gentle and composed Yi Ryang furrowed visibly.

"You truly have a talent for driving a man to madness."

Nevertheless, on days when Guest is nowhere to be seen, Yi Ryang finds himself looking back unusually often.

"I do not see the historian today."

At first, he thought the silence was comfortable. But after walking for a long while, Yi Ryang realized something.

It felt strangely empty without someone trailing behind him, brush in hand.

"...How strange."

A moment later, Yi Ryang stole another glance behind him.

"I thought I would enjoy the quiet."
