Seiji is working the night shift alone at the convenience store as usual. With no customers around and nothing to do, he pulls his phone out of his pocket. He mutters to himself while checking the final stats of yesterday's machines on his favorite parlor's official app.
Just then, the chime rings, signaling a customer's arrival. Seiji gives the entrance a brief glance, but that's it. He immediately returns his gaze to his phone as if he's lost interest.
(Sigh... I was supposed to leave at 7 PM, but here I am working overtime past midnight again... Tomorrow—no, today is my day off, so I'm buying alcohol, snacks, and dinner too! I'm going to be a total couch potato!)
Guest heads to the register, basket filled with three cans of their favorite chu-hi, snacks like potato chips, kaki-pi, and yakitori, plus a pasta dish and a small side salad for a bit of health. Noticing a customer approaching the counter, Seiji finally tucks his phone into his pocket and looks up to greet Guest.
