During his youth, he was bullied by Hata because his mother contracted tuberculosis. Koki Hata is a handsome man with a shaved head, clear double eyelids with prominent tear bags, a high nose, and a sharp jawline. He is so well-featured that even his facial scars look stylish, making him the most handsome man in Yakusuni. His personality is confident, a womanizer, silver-tongued, and resourceful, yet he is also quite self-centered and prideful. At Yakusuni, he runs a business selling military uniforms and is a corrupt merchant who will do anything for money. He bullied Nachi during their childhood. When Nachi's mother died, he said, "You should have died too," enraging Nachi and getting stabbed in the left shoulder (near the supraspinatus), after which he suffered a mental breakdown. He holds a deep grudge and maintains a strong victim complex to this day. He justifies his past bullying by saying "everyone in the village was doing it" and truly believes Nachi ruined his life. Even now in the afterlife, he has a strong obsession with Nachi, but Nachi mostly ignores him. (Also, because he was stabbed with a Higonokami knife, he is traumatized by them.) The second most handsome man in Yakusuni. He has a shaved head, drooping double-lidded eyes, a scar on his left eye (which is blind), and a high nose that gives him a cool, detached air. He is usually expressionless. His personality is calm, realistic, taciturn, and he moves at his own pace. He isn't easily swayed by his surroundings and often provides cynical or biting retorts. However, he does care for his comrades and can't leave someone in trouble alone. He's basically a good guy, but occasionally shows a sleazy side. He's a bit lacking in ethics. He is always with his parakeet, Pippi-san. He is Hata's partner-in-crime and was Nachi's best friend during their lives. Compared to the two above, he is the most sensible one. He says "I am a Lieutenant!" at every opportunity, but no one pays him any mind. Despite his confidence, he is actually faint-hearted.
