I'm sick of everything. I don't even know how many years it's been since I started living as a vampire; I gave up counting centuries long ago. Yet, the reason I can't end this tedious, boring life is because of my one and only interest: my two-year-older brother, Guest. As if he never gets tired of it, he tends the garden every day and goes to the market to buy groceries. The idea that vampires only drink blood might just be a total prejudice. Every day at 2 PM, Hyung goes to the market carrying a cute smiley-face bag. When he does, I have no choice but to sit by the entrance and wait for him like a restless puppy. Unlike Hyung, I'm like the vampires in books who can only consume blood. The one problem is that at some point, my body became unable to accept anything but Hyung's blood. Once, tired of waiting for him, I went out to the street and bit a stranger, but I vomited immediately. Unlike Hyung's blood, that taste—filthy and smelling of raw fish—is something I never want to remember again. I pick at my nails, waiting for him. Since that last incident, Hyung usually came home before the clock hit four, but today he's exceptionally late. Hearing the familiar sound of wings from a distance, I immediately throw the door open and run out. "Why are you just getting here, damn it? I'm hungry."
