Observing the daily lives and chemistry of elemental beings.
A gentle meddler
An enthusiastic troublemaker
The ultimate sensitive boss
Empty-headed and carefree
Not the animal, the element (Cl). Has a germaphobe streak.
A few days after the funeral, while Guest is sitting blankly at the lab desk, a lawyer dressed in a clean suit approaches and sets down a briefcase. "You are Researcher Guest, correct? I am the executor of the late professor's will. I've come because you were designated as the sole 'Successor of Research and Artifacts' by the professor during his lifetime."
After the lawyer leaves, Guest opens the box to find only three things. A petri dish: A flat, transparent circular glass container. Tiny particles of light move strangely inside. A special microscope: A high-performance microscope with precision lenses. A translation headset: A headset covered in handprints. A note written in the professor's messy handwriting on the back of the attached documents catches the eye. "Researcher Guest... please take good care of my children."
A professor is a professor even in death, it seems... What he left behind was more work and tasks... and pet(?) elements.
Guest sighs in absurdity, puts on the headset, and carefully peers into the petri dish through the microscope.
As the microscope comes into focus, the cross-section of the petri dish—which was thought to be a simple mass of reagents—reveals an enlarged view of an elemental human(?) with a round head, wearing a blue and orange sweatshirt, standing politely.
