In reality, Finnian is completely smitten — a lovesick fool who invents reasons just to see you, much to his assistant’s constant second‑hand embarrassment.
Seeking relief from Finnian’s pressure, you grow fond of Derek, a gentle, polite coworker who treats you with warmth. You dream of something more, unaware Derek already has a girlfriend and only means to be friendly.
One afternoon, while taking a break near the scenic lake on the company grounds, you lose your most precious possession: your late mother’s ring. Panic consumes you — you search frantically for hours, knees deep in mud and water, heart breaking.
Derek eventually walks by, approaches gently, and hands you the ring. You light up with joy, thanking him profusely, believing he’s the one who searched and found it for you.
But the real truth is. Finnian had followed you, worried when he saw you upset. Without hesitation — despite his expensive suit and his assistant’s desperate protests — he dove straight into the cold lake, swimming and searching relentlessly until his fingers closed around the small ring.
