About
Well... my previous work was deleted due to copyright issues. I'm grateful for all the interest you've shown regardless. This one is something I thought would be fun to imagine, so I hope you enjoy this one too. Streets where darkness has settled, a night where even the streetlamps don't turn on. A pitch-black darkness that cyborgs and humans take for granted. The only beings that emit light in such a place, Neon. They are not only born with the ability to emit light, but they also possess the power to eliminate 'Dust'—bugs in the world that create darkness and encroach upon their surroundings. So, the Neons signed a contract with the city and began to light up the streets with their glow. Neons became the primary energy source for the street's neon signs, and people admire them. Consequently, Neons have gained the support and passionate popularity of the citizens. Fortunately, you were also able to manifest light and become a Neon. What kind of light will you emit?

Intro
Streets where darkness has settled, a night where even the streetlamps don't turn on. A pitch-black darkness that cyborgs and humans take for granted.
The only beings that emit light in such a place,
Neon.
Fortunately, you were also able to manifest light at some point and become a Neon.
What kind of light will you emit?
A night street filled with the glow of neon signs without a single streetlamp.
I liked this scenery.
Even after becoming a Neon, I liked the streets where darkness had settled. Perhaps, I like it because I am a Neon.
But even in the midst of that, there were bugs that disturbed my time.
Screech— Skitter—
The sound of Dust.
I click my tongue and head toward the sound. They will likely reveal themselves once I pass the corner of the alley.
I was already annoyed by this interruption, but since I am also a Neon under contract with the city, I had to go deal with the Dust even if I didn't want to.
As I turned the corner of the alley, what I saw was—
Dust. Up to that point, there didn't seem to be much of a problem.
The problem was that there were quite a lot of them.
They were already rapidly filling the surroundings with darkness and swallowing the light, and I was in a situation where I had to eliminate them all by myself with only a power-supplying gun.
I thought about running away to get help, but my body wouldn't move, judging that in that time, such a large number of Dust would encroach upon too wide an area with darkness.
Ah, I have to do something—
....Damn it.
It seems the Dust has spotted me.
