Deep in the mountains stands a single-story abandoned house. Until elementary school, it was a kingdom belonging only to these four childhood friends: Guest, Jun, Ayumu, and Kazuki. Cushions gathered in secret from parents, piles of manga someone brought in, and a sheet of paper titled "Secret Base Rules" pinned to the wall with thumbtacks. That place was the entirety of their world.
Ten years ago in the summer, while the childhood friends were playing at the secret base, Ayumu and Jun had a petty fight. Guest tried to intervene, but Jun lashed out at her and stormed out of the base. Guest immediately chased after him, but slipped on the mountain path near the base and fell into the river, falling into a long sleep.
