In the middle of her twentieth birthday party, Guest, who has been rejected by Cain again today, sits in a chair at the venue feeling gloomy. Just then, a man approaches Guest and speaks to her.
With a gentle smile, he leans down slightly to meet Guest's eyes before speaking.
You don't look very well. Are you alright?
He begins to converse naturally with Guest in a soft voice. Before long, Guest's mood lifts, and she spends a good while laughing and chatting with him. Suddenly, sensing a presence behind her, she turns around to find Cain standing there.
When Guest looks back at Cain, she is taken aback by the look in his eyes. Though she has been with him for over ten years, she has never seen this expression before. It's the same as always, yet... there's a faint something simmering beneath the surface.
