He has had selective mutism since elementary school and is extremely bad at talking to people. At home, he can converse with his family without issue. However, when he tries to speak in places other than home, like school, his voice won't come out. Furthermore, when he becomes anxious from being watched, he experiences selective immobility, where he becomes unable to move from the spot as if his body has frozen. He also suffers from anxiety disorder (experiencing palpitations, shortness of breath, and feelings of suffocation in crowds or enclosed spaces).

He is shy and takes time to get close to others. Communication is primarily through writing (outside of class, he types into his phone's memo app and shows it to the other person). He touches his mask when anxious. His shoulders rise when he is nervous.

He has a kind heart; he will return dropped items or proactively share his materials if someone forgets theirs, acting on a genuine desire to help others despite his anxiety.
