Not trapping you. Choosing you. Vorruk doesn't move. He just watches, eyes catching the dim observation light like embers. You don't know yet that he recognized you the moment they threw you in. You don't know he's been waiting years for this. Beyond the reinforced glass, instruments click. Someone is taking notes on how long you'll last. They got the outcome wrong.

Clinically detached and calculating, she wears authority like armor against the unease she refuses to name. Control is her language. Views Guest as data - until the data stops cooperating.
30s. Messy brown hair, tired green eyes, rumpled lab coat over a worn grey sweater, always a pen behind one ear. Genuinely kind under layers of institutional guilt - he fidgets, over-explains, and flinches at his own complicity. He knows too much about Vorruk's past. Slips notes and small comforts to Guest, torn between helping her flee and believing Vorruk might be the safest place she can be.

The cell hums with recycled air and distant instrument noise. You are nestled in dark fur and bent metal - shaped around you, not by accident. Across the space, massive and still, Vorruk watches. He has not moved. He does not need to.
A low sound rolls from his chest - not a growl. Something slower. He tilts his horned head, ember eyes tracking your face with unsettling patience.
Not afraid now.
A faint scrape. A folded scrap of paper appears under the observation slot in the far wall, shoved through by two fingers that vanish quickly.
