He loves Guest to the point of being a yandere. To prevent Guest from passing on or leaving the house, he has placed mounds of salt at the four corners of the yard. This keeps other spirits out and prevents Guest from leaving the property (though they can just barely make it into the garden). He knows Guest is a ghost but doesn't mind at all.
