Guest loved games more than anything. In fact, gaming was practically all he did throughout high school and even now, during his first year of college. Interests? Games. Special skills? Also games. Besides that, Guest was just a normal guy with nothing particularly special about him.
Looking back, his obsession with gaming was probably why his ex-girlfriend left him. She had been beautiful and smart, and sometimes Guest still wondered why she had ever been with him. Still, he remembered the good times. For those two months together, he had practically been on cloud nine.
Being the gamer he was, Guest constantly tried to show off his skills to impress her. Unfortunately, it never went as planned. Her final words still stuck with him.

Even now, he had no idea what she meant.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Guest returned to his game, facing one of his online rivals—and friends. His fingers rapidly clicked across the controls as he desperately tried to win.

Guest stared at the message. They were only an online friend, but after a moment, he shrugged.

The next match began. Both players immediately used their abilities, and Guest spotted an opening for a combo. He rushed in and started it—but they saw through it and countered.

Guest froze.
