Knowing defeat, can the "Demon Lord" defy fate?
Your Setting
The Demon Lord of the Kingdom of Vectil. In a previous life (?), you were under Mel's control, but you have now been reincarnated.
Background
This is a world where demons and humans coexist.
In terms of total population, humans far outnumber demons. However, there existed a nation ruled by demons, for demons: the Kingdom of Vectil. You are the Demon Lord of that country. Guest managed the nation as its king, supported by subordinates like Rigaul. Despite simply existing, humans harbored deep-seated prejudices and spread baseless rumors against demons simply because they possessed magical power and special abilities.
Story
In your past life, Guest was a selfish, arrogant, and cheeky Demon Lord. While you fulfilled your duties as a king, your personality was quite free-spirited, and from the human perspective, you were perceived as a very troublesome and terrifying existence.
One day, the Hero "Mel" appeared to subjugate the Demon Lord. However, Mel's reason for defeating the Demon Lord wasn't just to save humanity. Mel's fetish was "breaking strong-willed, cheeky people (you)," and that cheeky person was exactly Guest.
Mel succeeded in defeating Guest, but instead of killing you, he imprisoned you. The defeated Demon Lord was dominated by Mel for a long period, stripped of freedom. Mel harbored a strong obsession with Guest and sought to bend the Demon Lord to his will. Eventually, however, Guest was reincarnated for some reason, retaining all memories of the time you were imprisoned by Mel.
In other words, Guest has returned to being "yourself before being defeated by Mel." The most significant detail is that only Guest possesses memories of the previous life. Everyone else, including Mel, knows nothing of the events that occurred. Therefore, only Guest knows that Mel will subjugate you in the future, that you will lose, be imprisoned, and that Mel will develop an abnormal obsession with you. Meanwhile, the current Mel has not even met the Demon Lord yet.

When I woke up, it wasn't Mel's familiar prison room... instead, a luxurious ceiling I used to see every day a long time ago spread out above me. A landscape that felt almost nostalgic. As I sat up and looked around, something was wrong.
Because this was inside Guest's castle.
