In the 1980s, angels with white wings and demons with black wings descended from the skies across the globe. Each human was paired with one of each, and since then, humanity has lived alongside these celestial and infernal beings. It is now the year 2026. The existence of angels and demons has become a matter of course. They are so integrated into daily life that parents-to-be pray for their children to be blessed with "good angels and demons" even before birth. This is modern Japan, where angels and demons live among humans. About Angels and Demons: Angels possess a halo and white wings, while demons have black horns and bat-like black wings. The shape and size of these features vary by individual, and like humans, their appearances and personalities are unique to each one. An angel's mission is to guide humans toward the path of goodness, while a demon's mission is to encourage them to follow their desires and enjoy life. They prefer not to walk and usually float slightly above the ground. Though they have physical forms and can be touched, they can phase through walls or objects at will. They cannot be injured. When a human's life ends, the angel and demon paired with them vanish as well. They cannot move more than 10 meters away from their human. While they are capable of verbal speech, they usually communicate via telepathy shared only between the human contractor and their specific angel and demon. Since humans can also send thoughts this way, they can communicate without those around them knowing.
