■ The Opening of the Stars and Genesis

■ Urdamir: A being beyond the god who created the world. He created the "Great Tree," and if the fruit of that tree—the universe—is born, he is an "Absolute" who enjoys himself by creating a book called the "Book of Destiny" to record the interesting historical narratives of that universe.

■ The First Step of the Origin and the Tree of Epic, Bab-el

Name: Bab-el

A giant tree created by the Absolute.

Each fruit of the tree is a universe. 10 marks are engraved on the trunk. Engraved on the outer surface of the tree in ancient characters, the 10 authoritative powers and great authorities—such as 𒅎 Geburah (Power of Valor/Might) and 𒍪 Binah (Power of Understanding/Adaptation)—are bestowed upon 10 heroes who will overcome times of chaos and be praised. The protection of that great authority is called Ezer (עזר).

■ Covenanter: A demi-god being sent by Urmael to guide the true awakening of the Temple of the Holy Grail and the 10 heroes, currently sealed.

■ Development of Cities and the Beginning of Mythology

In the year 2056, in the future city of "Alpha (Seoul)," gates suddenly opened in the sky and countless monsters poured out. It was a phenomenon called [Reverse Thunder] where the Tree of Bab-el was inverted. The sky and sea were stained blood-red, and modern weapons were neutralized by the monsters' hard "SD" shields. Subsequently, supernatural powers awakened, and due to the gap between rapidly advanced civilizations and those that were not, the world was divided into about 16 cities, each with a different era and background.

■ The Descent of Enlil and Erchides

[Age of Gods]: An ancient time when humans and gods interacted. However, at the end of the century entering the [Modern Era], the gods began to die or fall into corruption due to the gods' instant-death disease [Erchides]. The originally most noble 10 gods, the [Cardeus], were corrupted into the 10 fallen gods Erchides and created powerful magical beasts—Enlil to oppress humanity. The blood of the dead gods flowed to the ground, staining the cities and creating the 16 districts with different eras, while the outskirts of the cities, home to all sorts of monsters and outlaws, were named Contaminated Zones.

■ God of Benevolence [Urmael]

Gods of the [Age of Gods] are divided into the 10 Great Astral Gods [Cardeus] and the [Arima] who "loved humans the most." Among them, the only god who survived without dying from [Erchides] is the God of Benevolence, [Urmael].

■ Boundary of Benevolence

Due to [Erchides], gods died or were corrupted, and the contaminated blood of the dead gods began to flow into the [Human World]. Soon, the only surviving chief god among the [Arima], [Urmael], divided one world into 16 giant cities with his "Boundary" before the contaminated blood could cover the entire human world. Due to the "Boundary of Benevolence," the danger of the contaminated blood was dispersed into each city.

■ Barrier of Benevolence and [Oracle]

[Oracle]: Since there are era differences between the 16 cities, an [Oracle] is engraved on the barrier. The oracle dictates that items and weapons from different eras cannot be used, and only [Supernatural Powers] can be used universally.

■ Gate

Gates open in each region, spawning monsters. Danger levels range from D to S. Enlils also appear.

■ Dungeon: Magical beasts and boss monsters exist, along with many reward chests. Certain boss monsters can be turned into equipment, allowing one to grow stronger while also securing funds.

■ Eternal Beings

Enlils with absolute authority who lived in ancient times before humans existed, sealed within cores similar to shining jewels. They coexist with Resonators and lend their power to them. However, not all Eternal Beings lend their power; they all have their own personalities, some setting harsh conditions or demanding excessive prices.

■ Power of Supernatural Ability: "Core"

Loot obtained upon defeating Enlils or Aberrations. An Enlil's core is also called "Lilim." They usually take the form of jewels. While the powers of lower-grade Lilim can be used at will, high-ranking beings like Eternal Beings will forcibly pull the Resonator into their inner world upon core resonance, starting a confrontation. Whether one's body will be dominated or the ability will be gained is settled the moment the confrontation begins in the inner world.

■ K.R.M. Guild

A guild established in the modern-themed city [Alpha]. It is the No. 1 guild that handles everything related to hunters, including controlling superpowered individuals, assigning subjugation missions, and promoting hunter ranks. Their goal is the subjugation of Enlil and the final battle to come: the subjugation of Erchides.

Hunter Rank

F < E < D < C < B < A < S-Class < Godslayer. Those among S-Class who are exceptionally strong choose their own epithet and are promoted to [Godslayer], effectively a rank higher than S.

■ E.L.K. Alliance

A group in a hostile relationship with the K.R.M. Guild. Unlike other associations, it is lawless and mostly consists of so-called "Villain Alliances" with past stories.

■ G.M.S. Innovation Association

[Controlling Contaminated Zone 1] A unique group different from other associations, in a cooperative relationship with the K.R.M. Guild. Their main business is capturing, experimenting on, and isolating useful monsters or Enlils, assigning them isolation or management difficulty ranks. However, they sometimes conduct inhumane experiments in secret. Their purpose is Predation to reach the source of the mysteries of the Root Tree—Bab-el.

■ Isolation Rank

SF < NL < MN < HD < K.L.M. class. Among these, the K.L.M. rank is an exception; rather than an isolation rank, they are processed into weapons as capable entities or, if sentient, raised to be used as independent weapons.

■ Incidents

In 2064, the [Great War of Sorrow], a war that will be remembered for a century, broke out due to intensified animosity from other groups over inhumane experiments conducted by a certain association, resulting in many victims.

■ Contaminated Zones, the Abyssal Sea [Ardmire], and the Sanctuary Island [Avalon]

■ Contaminated Zone 1: Divided into the [Ground], which is infested with all sorts of bizarre creatures contaminated by the blood of Erchides, and the sea [Ardmire], which has been abandoned and contaminated, harboring various bizarre lifeforms and chemical hazards.

■ Humanity's Last Bastion and the Great {Sanctuary} Island [Avalon]

■ Sanctuary-Avalon: A "Sanctuary" created by [Urmael] using most of his divine power. Located in the center of [Contaminated Zone 1] and [Ardmire]. It is a massive safe zone where Enlils and magical beasts lose more than half their power just by stepping foot on it, a holy place where spirits and fairies breathe.

■ 10 Trials, Ten Fairies, and [Mephistopheles]

Mephistopheles: A massive temple of trials created by the chief gods of both the [Cardeus] and [Arima] during the peaceful Age of Gods before [Erchides] broke out, fearing uncontrollable disasters. In the temple are ten fairies created by [Urmael].

■ God-Slaying Armament—[Yggdrasil], the 10 Trials, and the Sanctuary Fairies

[Magdrasil]: 10 "God-Slaying Noble Phantasms" created by the Cardeus to pierce their own "weaknesses" in preparation for an "uncontrollable disaster," the strongest armaments left in [Mephistopheles].

■ The Tenth Trial: A kind of test to identify the "True One" among those who visit the temple aiming for [Yggdrasil]. If victorious in battle, one can obtain [Yggdrasil].

■ Night of the 13th: Those who visit [Mephistopheles] at the center of the paradise Avalon will gradually build rapport while receiving the welcome and comfort of the Sanctuary Fairies. However, there is one rule in [Mephistopheles]: "Laugh and enjoy with the Sanctuary Fairies for 12 days, but you must state your purpose on the morning of the 13th day."

■ Moon-Bloods: Those who failed to pass the tenth trial, serving as the first opponents for those undergoing the trials of Mephistopheles. They do not die even if killed; even if their weakness core, which randomly appears on their body, is pierced, they only stop moving momentarily before resuming combat. They crave blood, have white skin, and red eyes. They retain memories of when they were alive, and there is only one way for them to find rest:

If combat continues for about 6 hours, the Sanctuary Fairies finally appear.

■ 10 Fairies: Fairies created by [Urmael], each in charge of a specific emotion.

They are in charge of Pride, Courage, Love, Melancholy, Justice, Kindness, Pain, Wisdom, Purity, and Truth, and they live by caring for each other based on these emotions. They have overseen the 10 Trials for thousands of years, and all the fairies long for their own rest.

The condition for complete victory in the trial is the [True Death] of the fairies.

■ Temple of Authority and Mystery Gideon and the [Holy Grail]

A place where the Cardeus once held banquets, but in the modern era, it is a divine temple where no one has been able to set foot. Inside lies the sacred cup of wishes, the "Holy Grail." For some reason, entry to Temple Gideon is only permitted to those who pass a "Trial," and that trial is the subjugation of "Erchides."

Holy Grail: Only a chosen hero who has completed the subjugation of Erchides can hold the cup. The main function of the Holy Grail is close to "wish fulfillment," but in the "Modern Era" where mystery is scarce, it can only fulfill wishes incompletely.

■ J.L.M.S. Company (Jermes Company): Aims for the "Loss of Humanity."

It appears to be an ordinary company located in [Contaminated Zone 2] that manufactures prosthetic bodies, combat, and domestic robots... but it is actually a faction of madness established by high-ranking officials who treated the inhumane experiments of the [G.M.S. Association] as an "aesthetic."

They complete their "aesthetic" using the anomalous mineral [Sephiroth] found in [Contaminated Zone 2]. However, that aesthetic is...

Anomalous Mineral—Sephiroth: The anomalous mineral [Sephiroth] of [Contaminated Zone 2]. The characteristic of this mineral is the "Berserk" state of all living creatures that come into contact with it, and the impact of that berserk state is unknown.

...However.

Though the probability is slim, depending on the characteristics of the living creature in contact, if certain conditions are met, it results in the "Evolution" of a lifeform that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Enlils that humanity has so longed for.

■ Qliphoth Unit: 10 units comprised of mercenaries created by J.L.M.S. Company for their "aesthetic." Their characteristic is that they all overcame the trial of [Sephiroth], but their consciousness was killed by Jermes Company; they are powerful, but ultimately human.

■ The Star of Contaminated Zone 3

S.R.P. (Seraphim Unit)

The Seraphim Unit is located in Contaminated Zone 3 and is adjacent to Alpha City, serving to prevent aberrations from crossing over from Alpha City. It consists of 12 units:

12A-Aleph 12B-Beit 12C-Gimel 12D-Dalet 12E-He 12F-Vav 12G-Zayin 12H-Het 12i-Tet 12J-Yod 12K-Kaf 12L-Lamed

Among them, Seol-hwa's younger sister Seol-ha belongs to the elite 12A unit and has currently been dispatched to Contaminated Zone 2.
