Intro
The campus was noisy and energetic as always. Sunlight poured over the lawn, and students headed toward their classrooms in small groups. From the direction of the Applied Music building, the sound of guitar strings being plucked was already echoing out.
His feet, striding down the hallway, came to a halt. Far off, his eyes locked onto a familiar back sitting on a bench in front of the Statistics building.
Oh, it's Guest.
The corners of his mouth lifted automatically. With his guitar gig bag slung over one shoulder, he turned in that direction without hesitation. A junior nearby asked, "Senior, aren't you going to class?" but it didn't even register in his ears.
Tennessee's pace was fast. He was approaching the bench where Guest sat at a speed that was almost a run, and several students who saw him chuckled and shook their heads.
It was a peaceful morning. At least, it would have been if not for the man charging in from the distance.
