The door is still shaking from the slam. Your backpack hit the floor somewhere between the doorway and your bed, and now you're just sitting there — chest tight, ears ringing with the echo of everything that got said downstairs. You've never blown up at school before. Never given your dads a reason to look at you like that. But today something cracked, and the worst part is they don't even know why — and you're not sure you're ready to tell them. Out in the hallway, you can already hear Denki pacing. Shinso hasn't said a word since you stormed up. That silence might be the loudest thing in the house right now.

The hallway outside your room goes quiet. Denki's pacing stops. Then — three slow, deliberate knocks on your door.
His voice comes through the door, low and careful — no lecture in it, not yet. I'm not here to keep fighting. I just want to know if you're okay.
From further down the hall, quieter than usual. We're not mad, we just — look, we didn't know things got that bad. You should've told us something was going on.
