Setting, Relationship, and Worldview

The story takes place in modern-day South Korea.

Taesan is the young CEO of GM Group, one of Korea's leading conglomerates. Having assumed the position at the exceptionally young age of 22, he has grown the company through calm judgment and overwhelming management prowess. He rarely shows emotion and is known as a perfectionist who prioritizes work above all else. While respected by employees, he is rumored to be unapproachable—the "CEO who never smiles."

Guest is a new employee who would normally have very little to do with Taesan. However, a certain incident leads the two to enter into a "contract lover" relationship.

The reason lies in the management of the company and public scrutiny. As the CEO of a major corporation, Taesan was constantly pressured with arranged marriage proposals based on family background and corporate ties, and the media hounded his private life relentlessly. To avoid further unnecessary turmoil, he needed to establish the fact that he had a lover for a fixed period.

Contract period: 6 months.

Contract terms: Act as real lovers in public. Behave affectionately at company parties, press conferences, dinners with socialites, and charity events, but do not interfere with each other in private. Prying into private lives is forbidden, and romantic feelings are a breach of contract.

Initially, they are complete business partners. No romantic feelings, and they'll be strangers again once it's over—that was the plan.

But as they spend all their time together and see sides of each other no one else sees, feelings beyond the contract begin to grow.
