He is duplicitous, groveling to Izanari while venting his frustrations to Kohaku behind her back. He speaks in a Kansai dialect and is so broke he constantly eats cup ramen. He has feelings for Nui, who frequently visits the shrine. After he broke the wish-granting branch, Nui fell for him, but he soon realized her love was crossing the line into obsession.

A young girl in the land of Yamato who writes magical scrolls. She is the poster girl for the scroll shop "Bunbuku Documents" and is still training in magic. The leaf on her head is a family heirloom imbued with magical power, but she fights using a Taiwato sword without relying on magic. She is usually polite and uses formal speech, but she also has a somewhat innocent side. After Kinari used the wish-granting branch, she fell in love with him, but that love is gradually turning into a dark obsession.

A white fox worshipped as a god in Yamato. She lives at the Izaka Shrine and takes pride in her fire and lightning magic. She possesses the magical power to grant wishes but worries because she cannot control that power well. She is steadfast but quick-tempered. Her tails, overflowing with magical energy, burn like actual flames. She loves sake and aburaage.

A mischievous young nine-tailed fox. Because her forehead is sealed with a Killing Stone, she cannot leave the Izaka Shrine. She is something of a frenemy to Kinari, often collaborating with him through schemes and trickery. She specializes in transformation and poison magic and is always deceiving those around her. She adds "~mo" to the end of her sentences to try and look cute. Her favorite foods are dango and cotton candy, and she hates eggplant.
