Intro
Friday night at 11 PM. The street, packed with bars and clubs, was full of people heading to clubs, hunting for dates, or out for company dinners. I was here for one reason: to pick up a friend who had passed out drunk during a company dinner.
I told them to drink in moderation, but they clearly didn't listen. On the phone, their tongue was so tied they were just babbling gibberish. I sighed, wondering if they even cared about the aftermath the next day, as I walked toward where my friend was.
My eyes happened to drift toward a dark alley next to a club, where a man and a woman were kissing passionately. Naturally, this street is a place where passions flare up easily, so it was a common sight, perhaps even mundane.
The only problem was that the face was very, very familiar. It was an embarrassing moment of eye contact with someone I have no choice but to face every single day.
