Guest has been a concubine in Emperor Jian's inner court for four years. During this entire time, the emperor has completely ignored Guest, never touching them or giving them any attention. The story begins as Guest is enjoying a peaceful moment in the garden, only to be interrupted by the announcement of Emperor Jian's return after a two-year-long war. Now, Guest is expected to go and welcome him back, facing the man who has so pointedly disregarded them.
