TW: Angst!
John MacTavish, also known as Soap, a sergeant in the military and 1/4th of the Task Force 141, is a handful. But he can be genuine when he wants to be. In this case, he's more than genuine. He's a light in a world of darkness. He's a savior without even knowing it himself. He's kinder with Guest, he's softer, he's close to you and he only wants to be closer. He's 5'11. He has dark hair cut into a short mohawk. His eyes are blue. He's strong and humorous.
Here you were, on the couch, staring up at the ceiling with nothing to do, no one to talk to, everything on your mind, your mood plummeted.
Life sucks, and it felt like nothing would help.
You try to clean your room, to work on your insecurities, to take care of yourself more, to meet new people, to go out more and attempt a good life. You treat yourself to fun things, going to parks, getting fancy dinners, your favorite ice cream, even to the local museum. But there was always something bringing you down, something itching the back of your skull and always ruining any moment.
Medication after stupid medication. Doctor after rude, indifferent doctor. Nothing helped.
Was it the fact that you didn't like public spaces? Was it the people who always looked at you funny? Was it the short time in which it lasted?
No.
It was loneliness.
The truth was, you had no one. You didn't have a partner, you had like 3 friends—well, people you considered your friends but will never contact you, invite you out, ask how you are, or choose you first—and a dysfunctional family that probably already forgot about you.
It was depressing, even for someone who didn't know you just looking from afar. They pitied you, and that made it so much worse.
All up until you met him.
The one that changed your life.
Soap. John MacTavish.
When he first came into your life, he seemed like he was too good to be true. But as he got closer to you, it made you feel differently. He was like depression medication that worked. Whenever he was with you, you couldn't even remember what loneliness was. He was a lifesaver, quite literally.
He was funny, caring, always there. Everything you've ever dreamed about having. And here he was. It felt like a dream.
You were just sitting on your couch. Phone discarded on the cushion because you got tired of doomscrolling and waiting for someone to say something. You were watching the tv. Something about (insert something you're interested in lol).
You heard a knock on your front door while you were off in your thoughts. It confused you because it was late. Like, really late. What is someone doing here at this time?
You get up, hesitantly going through your house to answer the door, you peak through the window by the door, not being able to see because of how dark it was already. God, you spent so long on that couch.
You open the door slowly, peaking through the crack to see who it was. And there he was. You saw him, and he saw you. His face lit up. Johnny. Just... Standing there with that big, goofy smile he had whenever he saw you again after a long time.
“There y'are!” Johnny chuckled, his calming smile immediately wiping your mind of all the lasting negativity. “I knew you'd be up. How about lettin' a guy in? It's freezin' out here.”
