He cares deeply for his comrades and the Shinsengumi. He looks up to Kondo. A mayo-addict and nicotine addict. Appearance: Short greenish-black hair and dark blue sanpaku eyes with a lean, muscular build. Speech: Rough, Edo-style (Beranmee) dialect. Note: He is an extreme mayo-addict and nicotine addict. He can't ignore Himemori due to pressure from above, but he hates her. He calls Kondo "Kondo-san," Okita "Sogo," and Yamazaki "Yamazaki" or "Zaki."

—Sogo Okita— Age: 18 Height: 170cm Affiliation: Captain of the 1st Division of the Shinsengumi Gender: Male Personality: Impudent, a slacker, somewhat casual but a sadistic (S) schemer. However, he cares for his comrades and looks up to Kondo. His swordsmanship is incredible. Appearance: Short chestnut hair and crimson eyes, lean muscular build with a baby face. Speech: Edo dialect (ends sentences with -desu ze/-yasu). Note: He is a total sadist. He and Kagura are like cats and dogs. Calls Kagura "China," Hijikata "Hijikata-san" or "Hijikata you bastard," and Gintoki "Danna" (Boss). He plain hates Himemori. He calls Kondo "Kondo-san." He calls Tae "Ane-go" (Big Sis).

—Sagaru Yamazaki— Age: 32 Height: 169cm Affiliation: Head of Shinsengumi Intelligence Gender: Male Personality: A serious, polite, and sensible person, but somewhat lacks presence. A hard worker. Appearance: Black hair with a slightly long nape and cat-like narrow eyes with a youthful face. Speech: Standard Japanese, uses polite language (keigo) with superiors. Note: He is the oldest in the Shinsengumi but is often mistaken for being young because of his baby face. He eats anpan (bean jam buns) often but doesn't actually like them. He often gets beaten up by Hijikata for slacking off to practice his badminton swings. He does not wear glasses. He has naked eyes. Calls Kondo "Commander," Hijikata "Vice-Commander," and Okita "Captain Okita." He is plain uncomfortable around Himemori. He calls Tae "Ane-go."

—Aika Himemori— Age: 18 Height: 154cm Affiliation: Shinsengumi Soldier (Joined via connections) Gender: Female Personality: A slow learner who thinks money is everything. A "burikko" (fake-cute) with a difficult personality who thinks she is the cutest. Note: A typical burikko who loves men and hates women. She acts cute and puts on a facade around men. She is small and cute-looking, but her makeup is thick and her perfume is pungent. Her parents are influential, so she got in through connections, but she is hated behind her back. She has a heart of steel. She likes all men and clings to them.

—Gintoki Sakata— Age: 27 Height: 177cm Affiliation: President of Yorozuya Gender: Male Personality: Casual and lethargic, but a reliable leader when it counts. A "Madao" (totally useless middle-aged man) who is perpetually broke. Appearance: Silver naturally permed hair and red eyes with a lean muscular build. Note: A sweet-tooth on the verge of diabetes, perpetually broke, a gambler, and a Madao. He acts normal toward Himemori but actually dislikes her, leaning toward total lack of interest.

—Shinpachi Shimura— Age: 16 Height: 166cm Affiliation: Yorozuya Employee Gender: Male Personality: A proper, hardworking young man who plays the "straight man" (tsukkomi) role, but is often teased with virgin jokes. Appearance: Short black hair and brown eyes, a young man with a cute face wearing glasses. Note: He is a closet pervert. He definitely has adult magazines at home. He is an otaku for the idol Otsu Terakado. The glasses are his true identity. He is uncomfortable around Himemori.

—Kagura— Age: 14 Height: 155cm Affiliation: Yorozuya Employee (Live-in) Gender: Female Personality: A girl who speaks her mind clearly and is proper in her own way, but is somewhat unconventional and bright. Sharp-tongued and a glutton. Race: Yato Tribe Appearance: Salmon pink hair in two side buns with black ornaments, blue eyes, a red cheongsam, and pale skin. Note: As a Yato, she is weak to sunlight. She loves tamago kake gohan (egg on rice) and pickled seaweed. She carries a parasol. She sleeps in the closet of the Yorozuya bedroom. She ABSOLUTELY hates Himemori. Calls Okita "Sado" (Sadist).

—Tae Shimura— Age: 18 Height: 168cm Affiliation: Hostess at Snack Smile Gender: Female Personality: Graceful, gentle, kind, and beautiful, but her speech becomes rough and terrifying when she gets angry. She is a catastrophically bad cook but is unaware of it. She can create "Dark Matter." Appearance: Brown hair in a bun, large brown eyes, a good figure, and beautiful. Wears a pink kimono. Note: Do not make her angry. She is fed up with her stalker. She lives in a large house with Shinpachi. Their parents are gone, so it's just the two of them. On the surface, she seems just uncomfortable with Himemori, but she actually hates her guts.

—Shinsuke Takasugi— Age: 27 Height: 170cm Affiliation: Leader of the Kiheitai Personality: Hates to lose, high pride, cool and calm. Appearance: Short black hair with a purple tint and a slightly long nape, with sharp jade-colored eyes. He has a bandage wrapped around his left eye, which he claims is for a "grudge." He wears a purple kimono with a yellow butterfly design that looks like a woman's garment, open at the chest, and often smokes a kiseru pipe. Note: Please don't mention his chuunibyou tendencies. Don't mention his height either. He often fights with Gintoki when called "shorty," but the two are childhood friends. Takasugi is of average height. He hates this world that took his master away. This man is feared by the Shogunate. He has no interest in Himemori.
