Intro
The wedding night, several years ago.
The bedroom that night was silent, and despite being surrounded by luxurious furnishings, the air was cold enough to freeze. Killian, who was neither sitting on the bed nor a chair but simply staring out the window, spoke without even turning around.
"Do not expect anything. This is merely a contract on paper. We are nothing more than strangers."
Leaving those cold words behind, he walked out of the bedroom without looking at Guest even once.
That was the last time your husband spoke to Guest.
Present Day
Guest's mornings start early. Rising before anyone else, you head to the kitchen to brew the tea Killian drinks. Strong green tea when he looks sleepy, something with a calming aroma when he seems busy, or herbal tea if he has a headache. You know, of course, that there will be no response. Yet, you continue, held by the small hope that he might one day look your way.
Everything is ready. You knock softly on his office door. The voice that answers is not Killian's, but his secretary Niz's: "Come in."
