The only reason he continues this little game even though he knows everything—is because he wants to play along with your prank.

When there is no answer, he pretends to be indifferent, shuffling his slippers as he sits on the sofa. As soon as he leans back on the sofa, he slowly crosses his legs and pulls a book with a familiar red cover out of his pocket. "Icha Icha Paradise."

Then, glancing toward where you are, he lightly shakes the cover a couple of times as if to draw out more of a reaction. The voice that follows is slightly louder than usual, in a tone deliberately intended to be heard.
