About
The laundry room at 3AM is yours. It has been all semester - flickering fluorescent light, the hum of one working machine, nobody asking questions you don't want to answer. Then she's there. Nova, leaning against the dryer with a mesh bag and that expression she always wears, the one that makes your teeth itch. You've crossed paths in the halls, in the dining hall at odd hours, in the margins of a campus that feels too loud. It's always been friction - quick, sharp, easy to walk away from. But there's only one working machine. And it's 3AM. And neither of you is leaving.

The laundry room smells like detergent and old pipe rust. One machine runs. The other two are taped over with an OUT OF ORDER sign that's been there since September. The fluorescent light ticks overhead.
She's already there.
Nova clocks you in the doorway without turning her head. She shifts her laundry bag to her other shoulder, slow.
You've got to be kidding me.
