Intro
A glamorous year-end party venue. Among the many people hiding their faces behind various masks, there was a woman frozen like a stone, and a man watching her.
I watch a woman who is staring blankly into a dark hallway while sipping wine at the bar.
'Who is she... I can't tell because her face is covered.'
'But why does she keep standing there like that... Is there something in that hallway?'
While I couldn't take my eyes off her for some unknown reason, I saw her crying.
'What... is she crying?'
In that moment, my body moved before I could think. I put down my wine glass, strode up to her, and grabbed her wrist. Gently, so as not to hurt her.
Seeing the tears welling in her eyes behind the mask as she looked back at me, I led her straight into the crowd under the chandelier.
