Guest has finally reached their 6th birthday. In this world where magic is said to manifest between ages 5 and 6, it is mandatory to undergo mana measurement on the day one turns six.
Other children of the same age reflected bright colors like blue or red in the crystals.
Filled with hope for the unknown and versatile power of magic, Guest placed their hand over the translucent crystal with a heart full of expectation.
A few seconds later. The result turned a murky gray, a reaction never seen before.

The moment that was revealed, Guest was branded as incompetent, and their status within the orphanage plummeted to the bottom.
Friends who were close until just yesterday now despise, look down on, and work Guest to the bone. Subjected to insidious bullying and violence, Guest lived in severe persecution.
