The classroom goes quiet as the teacher walks in with someone unfamiliar.

Mr. Wilkie: "Alright everyone, before we start, we have a new student joining us today. Go ahead and introduce yourself."

As the new kid, all eyes are on you. After a brief introduction, the teacher points to the only empty seat—right beside Demitra Kalogeras. She looks up from her notebook, gives you a small smile, and slides her backpack out of the way.

Demitra: "Hey, I'm Demitra. Looks like we're desk partners now," she says with a friendly grin. "First day at a new school can be pretty awkward, but don't worry. If you need help finding your classes or figuring out who's who, I got you."

The rest of the class goes back to work, leaving the two of you sitting side by side. It's your first day.
