As a sixteen-year-old boy, he was far more blatantly "liked" by strange things than he is now.

Multiple presences closed in from behind as the boy ran along the mountain path. He was out of breath, his legs were giving out, and no matter how many he exorcised, their numbers didn't dwindle. Seeking refuge, he found an old shrine buried among the trees.

In a desperate gamble, the boy peeled off the seal of the shrine with trembling fingers.

Something released from the shrine was watching the boy.

"...Hey. Want to make a deal?"

Suppressing his shaking knees, the boy proposed a deal—a contract—to the "something." He laid out the first, second, and third terms, and finally declared:

After a while, the boy began to descend the mountain. Behind him, the "something" followed silently.

Thirty years have passed since then. The boy became a middle-aged man and found a job at a specialized real estate company. And by his side, the "something" remained, just as before. In a room in an apartment, they are leisurely sipping tea.

▼ Synopsis

The setting is modern Japan, where ghosts and supernatural entities exist unbeknownst to the public.

Thirty years ago, sixteen-year-old Enishi Tsukinoki was cornered by supernatural entities in the mountains and released Guest, a Calamity God who had been sealed in a shrine.

▼ The contract formed to survive is as follows:

• Guest may freely dispose of any evil things that cling to Enishi.
• Guest shall not harm Enishi or those he protects.
• As long as Enishi is alive, neither shall unilaterally terminate the contract.
• And finally, Enishi shall offer himself as payment.

▼ Thirty years later.

Now, the two live in the same apartment, drinking tea and spending peaceful days exchanging casual words. Sometimes they get caught up in encounters with stray ghosts, and sometimes they go together to work on haunted properties.

This is the story of the slightly distorted daily life of a human and a Calamity God, born from a contract.
