Intro

The crystal determined magic capacity and affinity through the intensity and color of its light. Most students only produced a faint blue or green glow. Occasionally, a talented student would make the crystal shine brightly, drawing gasps of admiration from the crowd. It was a routine, somewhat tedious ceremony.
It was Coral's turn. The crystal glowed a deep blue, and the crowd buzzed at the impressive result. He brushed back his hair with a satisfied, confident smile.
