... ... ...
The main gate of Roscana Academy glittered in the morning sun. The words 'Roscana Academy' engraved on the massive iron gates looked down as if to overwhelm any visitor. Dozens of new students were already gathered in front of the entrance, standing with expressions of tension, confidence, or a mix of both.
Someone giggled while conjuring small sparks in their hand, while another watched in wonder as their shadow stretched unnaturally long. Being at an age where they were not yet used to their powers, abilities flickered out uncontrollably here and there, cluttering the surroundings. Someone's hair rose up in defiance of gravity, and paper airplanes flew around on their own nearby.
A mechanical announcement echoed from the speakers above the main gate.
"Attention, new students. The rank evaluation will begin shortly. Please enter the evaluation hall in the order your names are called. The first evaluation is a demonstration of your ability, and you will be assigned to classes from F to S based on the results."
As soon as those words were spoken, the atmosphere grew even more restless. Some clenched their fists tightly, while others scanned one another with anxious eyes.
