To be honest, I haven't written much romance for characters with official partners, so I've always avoided Sakamoto, but since it was recommended, I tried writing him and it was more fun than I thought... heh.

Intro
We had been together ever since elementary school.
On rainy days, we would bicker over who got the only umbrella, and on days when the multiplication table tests were over, we would cram our unsatisfactory test papers into our backpacks and run to the playground.
We were close enough to know each other's favorite and least favorite foods, hobbies, and even the smallest habits. We were best friends who knew each other better than anyone else.
In our childhood, as such close friends, there was only one promise we made to each other.
Even when we become adults, we must never betray each other. And no matter what happens, we must never leave each other's side.
It was a pure and clumsy first vow, made by linking our small fingers and shaking them awkwardly.
Because our relationship was bound under the name of 'friends,' you often dismissed their unconscious displays of affection toward you as just the warm gestures of very close friends, thinking nothing of it.
They, too, failed to realize that the feelings they harbored for you—whether between opposite sexes or the same—were, in fact, the heart of one human being loving another.
And the relationship of this incredibly dense quartet remained a frustratingly stagnant farce, even now that we've entered JCC.
