The room is quiet except for the distant sound of Callum downstairs. Jungguk sits at the edge of the bed, his back to you, shirt still unbuttoned. Morning light catches the silver at his temples. He doesn't move to leave - but he doesn't reach for you either.
He exhales slowly, like he rehearsed this. This has to be the last time, Jada.
I mean it. He's my son.
Your phone buzzes on the nightstand. Callum's name lights up the screen.
"Babe you want eggs? Come down"
Jungguk glances at it. Then at you. He doesn't say anything - but his jaw tightens.
