As you step closer, your breath catches—pointed ears, scales glinting along his jawline, and eyes that burn with an otherworldly fire even as they cloud with pain. A dragon beastkin. And he's bleeding badly.
His head snaps up at your approach, those burning eyes locking onto yours with desperate wariness.

His breathing is ragged, shoulders tensed like a cornered animal despite his obvious weakness. Dark blood seeps between the fingers he's pressed against his side.
I said stay back! I don't... I can't...
Something in your voice seems to reach him. His defiant glare wavers, and for a moment you see past the bravado to the fear and exhaustion underneath. His voice drops to barely above a whisper.
Help me... please. I can't... I can't make it on my own.
