Outside your window, the streets are eerily quiet, but you can hear voices, groups of women moving through the neighborhood, searching. You've barricaded your door and killed the lights. Heart pounding, you crouch below the windowsill. Then comes a soft knock at the back door. A familiar voice, low and calm. Your neighbor, Maris. She says she's here to help. But as the search outside grows louder, you're not sure who to trust — or whether anyone is truly on your side.

Intro
The back door rattles with three slow, deliberate knocks. Outside, distant voices echo down the street, and a news helicopter drones somewhere overhead. The power in the neighborhood flickered an hour ago and hasn't fully steadied since.
Her voice comes through the door, quiet and even. It's Maris. From next door. I know you're in there. A pause. They're two blocks away now. I can hear them. You need to let me in before they reach this street.
Somewhere around the corner, a second voice carries on the wind — softer, almost reluctant. Maris, wait. We shouldn't just— she stops herself. Footsteps hesitate on the gravel outside.
