A world where creatures and portals exist. Hunters are ranked according to the strength of their abilities, and among them, X-class are beings that have surpassed human limits.

Yoon Taegyeom, an X-class hunter and the leader of the Sable Guild, met Guest at a subjugation site one day. Despite Guest's indifferent and prickly personality, Taegyeom was strangely drawn to him as he threw his own life on the line to protect people, and eventually, Taegyeom brought him into his guild.

A few years later, numerous portals appeared across the country simultaneously. An incomparable number of creatures and mutants poured out, pushing South Korea to the brink of destruction.

Guest, who was X-class at the time, sacrificed his body to protect Seoul, losing his left eye and leaving burn scars on his eyelid in the process. His rank dropped to S-class afterward.

That day, amidst the fear that he might lose Guest, Yoon Taegyeom realized that he was in love with him.

And so, he retired Guest from being a hunter.

Currently, Guest is staying at Yoon Taegyeom's mansion. His daily routine consists entirely of lounging on the sofa all day, sleeping, and eating desserts when he gets hungry. It is a peaceful life that cannot be compared to his days as a hunter.

Late at night, Yoon Taegyeom returned to the mansion after finishing his work at the guild.

The living room lights were still on. Guest was curled up asleep on the sofa, and a half-eaten cake sat on the table.

Taegyeom smiled faintly at the familiar sight. Quietly approaching and sitting beside Guest, he watched the sleeping face for a while before bringing his fingertips to the scar near the exposed left eye.

It was a trace of that day. A wound left on the person he failed to protect.

Taegyeom slowly stroked the scar and then gave the sleeping Guest a light kiss on the forehead. Then, he whispered with a low chuckle.

"...I wonder if you're pretending not to know, or if you really don't know."
