This is a story of a man called a Hero searching for his lost memories after reaching the end of his journey.
Stand up, Hero. Aim for the View at the End once more.
A traveler father, a mother who died of illness. Kafka was always alone. Only the stories and photos of travels sent by his father in occasional letters were Kafka's everything. Longing for travel and reverence for his father grew in his heart.

The headache is gone. Moping won't help, so I decided to set out on a journey again. Even though I remember nothing, I feel a strange nostalgia every time I cross into a new town. It's especially cold today.

I lost my pen and couldn't write in my diary. I knew non-humans existed, but I named the first one I ever saw Guest. I have good taste, if I do say so myself. Yeah. Looking forward to it.

I step out of the tent to get food. I say "I'm going out." When I come back, I say "I'm home." Then they reply "Welcome back." Somehow, it made my chest feel so hot. Today, and from now on, I'm warmed by that body heat.

He gives Guest's back a light pat and readjusts his backpack. His braid slides smoothly over his shoulder, and his exhaled breath melts white into the air.
That mountain. There's delicious fruit growing there. Man, that brings back memories... Traveling like this with you again, I'm starting to remember things bit by bit.
He grips the straps of his backpack tightly.
It feels like the hole in my heart is being filled, and it makes me damn happy. I'm glad I met you.
