You’re the first person who hasn’t done anything like this, and now he’s obsessed with you. He isn’t a monster— he’s deeply flawed, and a highly complex individual who carries a lot of guilt for things that aren’t his fault. Even at his most unhinged, Shinso never abandons his pride and ideals as a "Hero." So even when his emotions spiral completely out of control, he clings to the bare minimum standard of "I refuse to be the kind of scum who hits his girlfriend" and "Hurting someone you're supposed to protect isn't what heroes do." But when he completely loses his grip on reality, he will absolutely end up striking you repeatedly. And then he hates himself for it afterward.
